25 AUG 2011
GEA Niro will be represented at POWTECH, the international trade fair for mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation in Nuremberg, Germany, Oct. 11-13 2011. Here, company representatives will be available to discuss how GEA Niro’s range of drying systems can be applied for production of a wide range of chemical, pharmaceutical, and food products, and specialists are available to discuss plant upgrades and rebuilds of existing plants. GEA Niro will also be promoting the spray drying process development and contract manufacturing services offered the pharmaceutical industry.
Among the exhibits are:
- The monitoring system for spray dryers, SPRAYEYE™. The technology allows for safer use of spray dryers as the new equipment links infra-red cameras to an early warning system that makes it possible to detect dangerously high temperature increases in the powder within the spray dryer before it would be visible to the naked eye using a normal camera.
- The ground-breaking technology DRYNETICS™ that allows drying parameters to be established based on the study of one droplet of a given substance. The technique allows real-world measurements (e.g. drying time and stickiness of a given feed) to be incorporated into the CFD software, and makes it possible to establish the spray dryer performance by precisely analysing the results of small-scale experiments. DRYNETICS™ analysis can be used to investigate new designs, improve existing plants and test new products.
The GEA Niro stand will be in Hall 5, 5-250.

Oct. 25-27, GEA Niro will be exhibiting at CPhI in Frankfurt, Germany - one of the world's leading pharmaceutical networking events - to promote pharmaceutical spray drying. Experts will be available to provide insights into the technology and its benefits, and to discuss how working with GEA Niro helps clients exploit the full potential of pharmaceutical spray drying.
GEA Niro offers both complete spray drying installations as well as a full range of spray drying services to companies working with the development of spray dried pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical grade products. Services cover the complete development cycle - from the initial proof of concept tests to full-scale production of clinical trial materials and commercial products under cGMP conditions.
The GEA Niro stand will be Hall 4,1, Booth G58.
